On Sept 2nd, our club recognized one of our own; Dwayne Snook for his invalueable service to our community. For the past 11 years, Dwayne has been reading to children at
John Wetten Elementary/Gladstone.
"Reading is fundamental to the emotional & literacy well-being of our young kids today, and after awhile- the kids begin calling me Grandpa. It's fun & very rewarding." say's Dwayne.
Dwayne also lead the support, in getting Kinds News publication to the classroom. Kinds News is
published by the Humane Society- a year-long newspaper cirriculam that teaches young children thru pets, the importance of respect, responsibility and at same time... increases their reading capibilities.
